Hammers of the Ancients

When I was a kid I remember ICE, Iron Crown Enterprises, doing a rpg called MERP, Middle Earth Role Playing. It was a really cool game. But the artwork for the modules was really good. One of them, something about Trollshaws... maybe Hillmen of the Trollshaws, had a cover with someone holding a stone hammer. Not spectacular really but from then on I always liked the idea of doing stone war hammers. Something more rough and primal and ancient about stone rather than metal.
Anyhow, that's what motivated these hammers. I imagine these would be something used up in Arnor, Rhudaur more specifically. Maybe even north-western Mirkwood area.
